ABOUT BENZOHELP

Independent education for safer, more informed care.

BenzoHelp is being developed as a public-interest initiative for patients, families, clinicians, and communities.

Our mission

BenzoHelp advances informed prescribing, patient-centered deprescribing, continuity of care, and public understanding of benzodiazepine physical dependence and withdrawal.

What we believe

What BenzoHelp does not do

We do not diagnose, prescribe, direct individual medication changes, certify clinicians, or provide emergency services. We do not accept pharmaceutical-company control over editorial content.

Editorial and medical-review standard

Source hierarchy

We prioritize government safety communications, multidisciplinary clinical guidelines, systematic reviews, and peer-reviewed research. We label lived experience and opinion as such.

Review

Clinical material should be reviewed by appropriately qualified independent professionals before publication. Each substantive page displays a review date and is rechecked when major guidance changes.

Conflicts and funding

Authors, advisers, reviewers, funders, and relevant conflicts should be publicly disclosed. Financial support should not buy editorial influence.

Privacy and stories

Personal stories require informed, revocable consent before publication. Contributors should understand where and how their words may appear. Identifying details should be minimized.

Governance under development

BenzoHelp’s goal is to establish an independent board, a clinical advisory group, and a lived-experience council. Names, roles, decision-making responsibilities, and conflicts should be published here when appointments are made.

Transparency note: Until named reviewers and organizational status are published, BenzoHelp should describe itself as an educational initiative—not a medical authority, clinic, certification body, or tax-exempt charity.

Corrections policy

We welcome specific corrections. Please identify the page, the statement at issue, and a supporting source. Material errors should be corrected promptly and significant changes summarized publicly.
